i have a question. I have a 2001 Acura integra LS. It has 185K on the motor. I have a Greddy Catback, SKunk2 Test Pipe and AEM CAI. It throws a little Gray Smoke out the back when i get on it. Not alot, you can barely notice it. I ran 5w-30 and went to a honda racing shop in alhambra and said you should run 20w-50 so the oil consumption will go away and no smoke will get thrown out the back. Is it true? It never used to throw smoke before the test pipe. Any suggestions?

I Honestly wouldnt run 20/50 Id say go with 10/40. Built boosted cars run 20/50. But eventually do a rebuild on the motor man, it doesnt cost tooo much if you buy a complete rebuild kit, shop online. 185k isnt really to many miles for a Honda/Acura motor, but if your into racing/beating on it a rebuild is a most at that many miles. And it helps if down the road you want to boost it or go LS/Vtec. Good luck with it man!

I dont beat on it much, i mean 4 or 5k rpm isnt that bad compared to some people that go to 8 or 9k rpm. I mean i know LS isnt meant for racing more for economy. An 70 year old man owned this car since 2001 so i know it wasnt raced cause i am the second owner. It was a freeway car all its life until i got it. I mean i got the compression and leak down check and that came out great. Compression is stable in all cylinders. No leaks or anything. I know the test pipe is the thing causing the smoke since the fuel mixture is off. I have never redlined the car or gotten close. tops 6k rpm nothing past that and that rarely happens. Just askin what oil i should run. You think 10w-40 would fix it.
